The connection between Tivat and Dubai with Flydubai opens the doors to tourists from Dubai the ME, and SA
The National Tourism Organization of Montenegro (NTOCG), in collaboration with flydubai, the Embassy of Montenegro in the UAE, and the tourism industry, organized a webinar for travel agents from the United Arab Emirates market on June 11, 2025. The purpose of the webinar was to familiarize agents with Montenegro’s tourism offer, coinciding with the launch of the Dubai-Tivat-Dubai flight route, which flydubai will operate four times a week from June 4 to September 6 this year. Aligned with the current promotional campaign, the webinar titled "Montenegro's Call for Adventure – Uncover your wild side" provided an opportunity to showcase Montenegro’s advantages as a tourist destination, its main attractions, cultural heritage, unique nature, luxury hotels, and possible travel arrangements, with a particular focus on family holidays. At flydubai’s invitation, the online presentation was attended by nearly 100 travel agents from the UAE, who had the opportunity to learn about Montenegro’s potential as an attractive holiday destination. The presentation began with representatives from flydubai introducing their company and the exact flight schedule to Montenegro—operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with their Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. This was followed by an overview of the tourism offer, presented by Aleksandra Maksimović, Director of the Montenegrin Convention Bureau within NTOCG. Isidora Dabović from the Embassy of Montenegro in the UAE explained the current visa regime for UAE citizens and residents staying in Montenegro. Additionally, representatives of agencies and luxury hotels, certified members of the Montenegrin Convention Bureau, had the opportunity to present their offers and propose possible itineraries for family vacations. Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations and E-Commerce at flydubai, highlighted that the airline established flights to Tivat as early as November 2017. According to him, there has been constant demand from UAE travelers since then, and Tivat has become a very popular destination during the summer seasonal schedule, thanks to its picturesque landscape and diverse holiday options. “This summer, Tivat is served with four weekly flights, offering passengers from Dubai, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia a comfortable and convenient journey to this destination. We look forward to continuing to stimulate interest in travel to this city and enabling more people to explore the Montenegrin coast—not only from the UAE, but also from India, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. Since our founding, we have been committed to expanding our network, opening up underserved destinations, and enabling the free flow of goods and tourism. Today, we fly to more than 135 destinations in 58 countries and have connected Dubai with 35 destinations across Europe, including Tivat in Montenegro,” Efendi stated. Dr. Ana Tripković Marković, Director of the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, emphasized the importance of the direct air link for tourism traffic from the Middle East market: “The Middle East market is among the significant non-European markets for Montenegro, and the direct flight from Dubai represents a crucial link in strengthening the destination’s recognition and attracting tourists from that market. We are especially pleased with the great interest shown by agents from the UAE during the webinar, which clearly indicates that they recognize the potential of Montenegro and the opportunities it offers as a luxurious, dynamic, authentic, and increasingly attractive destination for this target group. We believe that the efforts invested will significantly contribute to a higher number of arrivals from the UAE, as well as the continued strengthening of economic and cultural ties between the two countries. NTOCG will continue to develop cooperation with flydubai, with the aim of further promoting our country as a destination that offers a unique experience and high-quality service,” concluded Dr. Tripković Marković. NTOCG will continue its promotional activities in the Middle East market in the coming period, aiming to further increase tourism traffic and position Montenegro as an attractive destination for tourists from this region.
