As part of the jubilee thirtieth edition of the Herceg Novi April Theater Festivities (30th HAPS-ić), on Tuesday, April 22, starting at 5 p.m., on the stage of Park Hall, the youngest Herceg Novi audience (6+) will have the special pleasure of enjoying the children's cabaret "The Hedgehog's House" by Branko Ćopić, as the most famous and beautiful fables of our region.
The play, which had its premiere at the end of 2021, is often and successfully performed in Banja Luka and other cities, and last year it was a guest at the "Boško Buha" theater in Belgrade.
The city theater "Jazavac" is presented to the audience in Herceg Novi for the first time. This professional theater, which operates in Banja Luka alongside the National Theater of the Republic of Srpska and the Children's Theater of the RS, is in its 20th year of existence, founded in 2006.
A word from the director
Branko Ćopić is one of the greatest writers from our area. In his literary oeuvre, a large number of works for children stand out. He differs from other writers of children's literature by his very drinkable, folk, yet specific humor, which conveys a message to a younger reader with imagination and the simplicity of the written word. "The Hedgehog's House" is characterized as a poem in most literary sources, but because of the characters in it, the animals, which have the characteristics of people, get the expression of a fable in verse with a very clear idea and attitude. Ježurka Ježić, a modest and hard-working resident of the forest, is satisfied with what she has, preserves, appreciates and defends her native home, despite the negative attitudes of others and their ridicule.
We will tell a work that will be remembered for a lifetime in our own way, in a cabaret style, with lots of song, dance and beautiful dance. In memory of Branko Ćopić, his work and message to all generations.
