5 Danica promenade

5 Danica promenade

Herceg Novi promenade "Pet Danica", in the length of 6 kilometers, stretches along the sea from Igalo to Meljine. The promenade was named after five Danica's, five young girls who fought bravely and died in World War II. Part of the route of the former famous railway Sarajevo - Zelenika, also passed through this promenade, and in Herceg Novi, along with the sounds of ship sirens, you could once hear the roar of a train, the popular Ćira. Today, the promenade is dominated by the sound of waves, rattling masts, and music from cafes that are located along the entire promenade. Along the way you will find concrete and pebble beaches and places to relax, an outdoor pool, a sailing club, the city port, but also numerous turns for stairs that will take you to the city center. The city promenade is an ideal route for a quick or easy walk, running, rollerblading and cycling, meditating by the sea, discovering the history of the city or socializing in one of the cafes with a relaxing sea view.
